In 2022 Unlock will be celebrating its 50th Birthday and we are planning a celebration at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on May 28th from 11am until 3.30pm to mark the occasion. We would like to invite you to be part of this event.
This will be an open, informal gathering, including Unlock people old and new, staff, supporters, friends and volunteers, as well as locals. It will include a communion service, buffet lunch, and Unlock stories and activities. We are inviting guests to join us in launching Unlock on the next stage of its journey, and each new local partnership or resource pack is another ‘little boat’ launched into, (let’s face it) uncertain waters!
The event is open to anyone and an invitation is attached for you to pass on to anyone you know who may interested. It is an all age event and people can drop in and out or stay for the whole time. The Cathedral is easily accessed from James Street Station which is only a 10 min taxi ride or half hour walk away.
We are asking people to make and bring a small model boat to add to our flowing water display. This can be made out of anything you like; paper, card, textiles, metal, plastic, wood, junk, (and they do not need to be watertight or actually float!). You can find suggestions for how to make little boats here http://www.unlock-urban.org.uk/ about.php. The model boats should be no bigger than 11cmx11cmx11cm. You can bring them on the day, (or, if you want to participate but are not able to join us, you can mail them to Unlock Office at 15 Station Road, Rotherham, S60 1HN to arrive by May 20th).
