Red Letter Christians with a Better Story

Our friends at Better Story hosted Rev Dr Helen Paynter to explore how “thin theology” can “church-wash” the racism and hatred of the extreme right. It was a sobering message. Helen has been among the most influential theologian researching this area, but maintains hope that dialogue and a “deeper theology” can help those caught up in this ideology find the authentic Jesus of the Gospels.

We appreciated the call to resist polarisation, and to dialogue with “moderates”, while critiquing and resisting the more extreme hate-mongering positions. Better Story produced a recording of the lecture - so grab a cuppa and spend an hour to unpack what is going on... Watch the vieo here.
